WELSH DUO GO FOR GOLD
Shanghai, 05/10/07 - Welsh golfers Matthew Sims and Philip Rees will be going for gold over the next four days as part of the Team GB golf squad at the Special Olympics World Games in Shanghai.
Matthew from Cardiff will be competing in the 18 hole competition whilst Philip, from Llanelli, will be taking part in the nine hole event. Both players start their competitions on Saturday.
“We can’t wait to get started,” exclaimed Matthew “but we are loving every minute out here. The coaches Craig Martin and Brian Hughes have been fantastic and the Chinese people have made us feel very welcome.”
