Mr Keith Wilcox from our Special Olympics Northern Region has been selected to lead Special Olympics Team GB to Shanghai in October 2007. Keith has a long association with Special Olympics, his first involvement being over 30 years ago. Having held the position of team manager six times at GB National Games level, Team Manager at the European Games 2000 and held management positions at two world games Keith is well qualified to lead the G.B. team to Shanghai. In his association with Special Olympics Keith holds positions as chairperson of the Leadership Council and serves on the Board of Directors.

Back home Keith continues to work at the grass roots level of Special Olympics organising local and regional events in his region. More recently he has been involved in setting up the North East Football league in partnership with the Durham County Football Association.

We are delighted to announce that Keith's assistant will be... Mrs Jane Moncrieff.

Jane has been involved in Special Olympics for 15 years. She has held positions as Team Manager for the Lothian Team at GB National Games in Cardiff and Glasgow, family co-ordinator for World Games in 1999.She was also Athletics Coach at European Games in 2000.

She is currently Chair of Special Olympics Lothian, Vice Chair of Lothian Disability Sport and is heavily involved in the development and administration of Sport in her day job! Jane is looking forward to the many challenges that lie ahead in ensuring we have the best GB Team ever for the Games in Shanghai!
